C'est quoi?
Dix titres qui font le pont entre le Québec, le Maroc et l'Algérie. Cet album supervisé par deux vétérans, le rappeur 4Say et DJ Majestic, est l'effort collectif d'une variété de nouveaux talents aux accents multiples et aux préoccupations communes. Il y est notamment question de l'exil, du néocolonialisme et de la paix au Moyen-Orient.

On en dit quoi?
De manière générale, le mélange des influences rap, rock et raï ravit. Cependant, comme c'est souvent le cas avec les albums touffus s'apparentant à des compilations, le niveau varie d'un morceau à l'autre. Ici, ce n'est pas tant la qualité des interprètes, mais celle de la production qui fluctue. Par exemple, Danse le taliban est un bon concept, malheureusement desservi par un rythme médiocre, à la This is why I'm hot de MIMS, qui ne fera pas danser grand monde.

Qu'est-ce qu'on retient?
La mafia maghrébine a d'autres préoccupations que la frime. Le choc de l'immigration et le sentiment de déchirement qu'inspire l'appartenance à deux sociétés sont illustrés avec sincérité sur Entre deux cultures et Bladi, deux des meilleurs morceaux de 2009 à s'être frayé un chemin jusque dans ma discothèque.

Where can we hear your stuff? How did you get that name? It was first ‘200Negros’ to celebrate over 200 years of Independance of Haiti … but because of the medias racism and all the scariness that the name brought to people….we changed it to ‘Les200′ … that means ‘The200′ aka 200 Visionnaries … It’s a collective with many different good solo artists from different languages, cultures & visions.

What has been your biggest accomplishment? Spokesperson for a radio’s product . Song ‘Le Tabarnak’ on full radio and TV rotation. On Mims’s mixtapes & on The Alchemist’s mixtapes. Opening for Method Man & Redman tour and also the Fabolous tour in Canada. Spokesperson for a Sunglasses Company. But the good situation just started

also we realeased a few international albums last year.

What has been your most difficult challenge? The racism out here in the medias…but we create our own circle...so we make it good!

What makes you different? So many different culture and talent in the collective … the song : ‘Trespass’ is the main international single right now getting played everywhere and it’s a Hip Hop/Reggae vibe in English, Creole and Patois…also members in the group raps in Arab, French, Lingala and other foreign languages…

We’re #1 in our Country….

What projects are you working on? We’re rolling everyday off this … websites promos, tours, radio interviews, magazines interviews, bookings, etc … and we have a few solo careers too…but the main next project I would say it’s the collective’s album ‘Les200 - Solide’ … that will come out in April 2009. We already have international solo projects that works and with the first group album I think it will be a certified classic and probably the best/most popular product in Canada.

Where are you from originally? Montreal, Quebec, Canada is what we represent everyday, but the collective is from everywhere…Haiti, Congo, Jamaica, Canada, Morocco, France, etc…

How Long have you been making music? all the crew is about 10 years deep or more in this business…

What artists inspire you? Artists : Ludacris, Wyclef Jean, Busta Rhymes, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Bun B, etc

Entrepreneurs : Diddy, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Birdman, etc.

How would you define your style of music? CrunkHall … it’s a mix between Crunk, Dancehall, Rap, Reggae, Street, etc….

What teams are you affiliated with? LES200 (THE200) & LUNETZ is the 2 only team in our family … all the others…it’s not us…we don’t hate at all and we suggest everybody to work with us…but we’re our own circle.

Who are some artists that you have worked with? We're almost 200 for real in our crew so we try to keep the featurings very limited but we opened/featured with : Method Man, Redman, Fabolous, Gorilla Zoe, Cut Killer, Mr. Cheeks, FHB Boyz, The Alchemist, Tha Advocate, Guru, Planet Asia, Ja Rule, The Game, G-Unit, Billy Danze, and some more….

Who would you like to collab with? almost everybody but we have to feel the vibe first….because we’re real dudes…but mostly reggae artist : Movado, Beenie Man, Sizzla, Collie Budz, Junior Reid, Spragga Benz, etc … plus all the artists that i’ve put in the previous questions…

Where do you see the future of music? It’s gone digital….we’re distributed physically & digitally and we make more money with the digital and ringtones… Music will never die…and also HipHop will live forever…the blacks & the streets took over the last decade in music in a positive way and I think there’s ups & downs but it will always be there…

Where do you see yourself in 1 year? One of the biggest sellers in urban music in Canada…hopefully internationally also be a brand in Music….Les200 (The200) as to be respected worldwide…more tours, more important featurings…
